About:  My wife, Jodie, and I have one child, Sydney. I am a 1984 graduate of Newburg United. I took my first teaching position in 1989 in Westhope.  I taught mathematics. In 1995, I was hired as Secondary Principal/Teacher at Newburg United.  In 1998, I became the Superintendent/Secondary Principal at Newburg United. In 2005 I became the Superintendent at the Bottineau Public Schools. I enjoy attending Bottineau Public School activities, spending time with my family and ice fishing.

Dear Patrons, School is off and running. We have completed the first month of school and things are going well. The State Assessment Test for grades 3-8 and 11 in math and reading will be taken in the spring of 2017. This test is used in determining a school districts Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). Grades 4,8, and 11 are required to take a science portion. The science test is taken during the October 17th to November 4th testing window. PLC

In response to our recent external evaluation we are transitioning to a PLC model school. In a PLC (Professional Learning Community) student learning is the focus. To ensure student learning at a high level teachers will need time to collaborate. This is done on a weekly basis. Teachers will have a designated time in which to meet as a team or department and discuss three core questions. What do we want all students to learn? How will we know if they learned it? What will we do if they didn’t learn it? This is done for every course taught....
