Bank of ND’s New College Scholarship

  • must have GPA greater than 2.5
  • must graduation in Dec. 2012 or May 2013
  • must be involved in school jor community acivities
  • plan to attend ND college or university in fall of 2013
  • 8 – $500 scholarships awarded monthly in random drawings – March.  These 48 students may apply for an additional $3000 scholarship to be awarded in June
  • apply at banknd.nd.gov (College Planning Center)—click bottom right corner on Seniors are you the Real Deal?
  • applications accepted through Feb. 28 – only need to apply one time for each month’s drawings

 

ND Farmers Union Scholarships

  • If you are a current Farmers Union member and are planning to enroll in a post-secondary institution or as a freshman at NDSU, you are eligible
  • Scholarships available:  ND Farmers Union Scholarship, Co-op House Scholarship, Farmers Union Industries Foundation Stanley Moore Scholarship, Hubert Seymour Scholarship, Stanley Moore Scholarship

Farm Credit Services

  • 32- $1000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who plan to enroll in college this fall
  • must be from an actively farming family OR planning to pursue an agricultural career
  • seclection is based on academic record, personal attributes, vocational promise, leadership and financial need
  • Application deadline is March 1, 2013

Pheasants Forever Scholarship

  • Must be a dependent of a member of Pheasants Forever
  • Application due March 1, 2013

 

Bottineau Farmers Elevator Scholarship

  • Must be a high school senior
  • Well rounded student and should maintain quality involvement in a balance of extracurricular activities and service activities plus demonstrates leadership ability and potential
  • Due March 1
  • Interest in pursuing a career in agriculture
  • Funds will be issued to college prior to the beginning of 2nd semester

Gate City Bank Scholarship

  • Must be a senior planning on entering college in the fall of 2013
  • Must attend at least 2 year program in ND, MN, SD, or MT
  • Gate City employees and dependents are not eligible
  • Criteria taken into consideration will include scholarstic excellence, extra curricular activities, community involvement, and financial need
  • Application deadline is March 15

Minot Rotary Club Scholarship

  • Selection based on scholastic ability, leadership qualities, school & community activities, awards & honors, financial need
  • Application due on March 30, 2013

SRT

–       Foundations of Rural Service –

  • Eligibility:  Be a graduation senior * Be sponsored by a current NTCA member * Be accepted by an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university * Have a “C” GPA * Express and interest to return to a rural community

following graduation

–       SRT College Scholarship Program –

  • Eligibility:  Customers receiving any service from SRT and their dependants may apply *  Graduation high school seniors *  must enroll in a full time undergraduate course of study no later than fall term of 2013-2014 school year *  must have 2.0 GPA or higher

Bottineau County Employee Scholarship Award

  • Any Bottiineau County graduating senior
  • $300 will be awarded
  • Application in file
  • Application deadline is April 1

 

Pringle & Herigstad, P.C. Scholarship Program

  • 6- $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors
  • based on GPA, extracurricular activities,  SAT/ACT cores, and a writing sample of the applicant’s choice

Dushinske & Jamison Water Resources Scholarship

  • 2 – $1000 scholarships
  • apply if currently attend or plan to attend a ND college or university
  • preference will be given to, but not limited to, students studying water0related fields and students whose families have taken active roles in state water resource management
  • application in file – deadline is April 1

Miss Geographic Center Scholarship Program

  • will be awarded to any young lady who is a ND resident or attending a ND school.
  • Young ladies 1st grade through age 24 are eligible – winners go on to Williston in June 2013 to compete for Miss ND
  • Scholarships are awarded at both pageant competitions

Alert Magazine Scholarship

  1. You must currently be a senior in high school.
  2. Your high school must be located in one of the following states: Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington or Wyoming.
  3. You must have a grade point average of 2.5 or better.
  4. You must have plans to attend college after graduation (the college you will attend can be located in any state).
  • Write an essay about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with drug and/or alcohol abuse. In your essay explain how the situation was dealt with, what you learned from it, what others can learn from the experience, and what was right or wrong (in your opinion) about the way the incident or problem was handled. Scholarship essays are judged in the same way that essays written for a high school English class would be: thesis statement, supporting content, grammar, punctuation, etc.
  • Essays must be typed, double-spaced, and 650–800 words in length.
  • Essays must include an official copy of your high school transcripts.
  • Essays must also include a recent photo. Scholarship winners will have their picture reprinted in our magazine along with their winning essay, so please send a good quality color photo (no blurry printouts).
  • No application is needed and there is no deadline, but you must meet the eligibility requirements and include all of the items listed above to be considered.
