Notes from the Superintendent

The first month of 2016 has now come and gone. The weather for the most part has been seasonably warm. Hopefully this trend will continue.

Although the weather has been nice, I would like to remind parents to please make sure their children are dressed properly when getting on the bus in the mornings. We still live in North Dakota and the weather can change very quickly. Thank you in advance for your help.

I would also like to take this opportunity to discuss after school transportation on our buses for birthday parties. Each of our buses have town routes before dropping off out of town students. Each of these buses are full when leaving the school. It is very difficult for the drivers to add students to their route when the bus is already full. In many cases the driver has no prior notice and students just began entering the bus. In the future, I would ask that the school and drivers be notified prior to the event. This will enable the school to determine if there is going to be room to accommodate your request.

The district will have an early out on Friday, February 12th. This will be used as a professional development activity for our staff. Buses will leave Central School at 12:30 pm and 12:45 pm from the Middle School.

There will be no school on Monday, February 15th (Presidents’ Day). This is a storm make-up day and could be used if there is a school cancellation the end of January or early February.
