Notes from the Superintendent

Dear Patrons,

The month of January is now in the books. The weather turned from very cold in the
beginning of the month to a much nicer and bearable temperature, with already missing four
days of school, I am hoping the remainder of the winter keeps the snow and ice away.

The district will have an early out on Friday, February 17th. This will be used as a professional
development activity for our staff. Buses will leave Central School at 12:30 p.m. and 12:45 p.m.
from the Middle School.

The district has missed four days of school because of weather. These days will need to be
made up. Our first make up date will be Monday, February 20th (President’s Day). School
will be in session on Monday, February 20th. Tuesday, April 18th and Friday, May 26th will
also be used as storm make up days. At this time I am planning on making up the fourth day
by adding a half hour per day for twelve days to our schedule. By going this route, March 16,
March17, and April 17th will remain as days off. This may change if there is more inclement
weather forcing the district to call off school. I will give more detail in the March newsletter.

Bottineau will be hosting the Girls’ Basketball District Tournament on February 9-11th. On
Thursday, February 9th and Friday, February 10th students will load the buses on the east side
of the school.
