  • Monthly chance to win $1000 – write an 200-900 word essay
  • Essay for Feb. 1- Feb. 15:  Describe a time when you failed at something and you were able to take that lesson and improve

ND Crop Improvement & Seed Association

  • 3 scholarships ($1000 each) to NDSU College of Agriculture for incoming freshman.  
  • Application deadline is Feb. 15

North Central Electric Cooperative (along with Basin Electric) Scholarships

  • 9 scholarships – 1 overall winner $1000 and 8 – $500 scholarships (2 are for students attending DCB,  2 are for students attending the Turtle Mt. Community College, 2 are for any college in ND.) 2 New scholarships  are $500 scholarships for students enrolling in the electrical line works program at Bismarck State College
  • Dependent children of North Central Electric Cooperative are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
  • Applications must be returned to North Central Electric by February 17.  (in file)

Lake Metigoshe Lions

 

  • $500 scholarship from class of 2017 who plans on attending Dakota College at Bottineau in the fall of 2017

 

  • Applicants must demonstrate a desire to succeed academically and must maintain a 2.25 or above GPA for first semester of college.  This scholarship will be awarded for the second semester of the 2017-2018 school year.
  • Complete application and submit it to Mrs. Grosgebauer by February 28

 

Farm Credit Services Scholarship

  • Must be from an actively farming and/or ranching family OR be planning to pursue a career in farming or some other aspect of agriculture
  • Application deadline is March 1, 2017
  • Application in Mrs. Glasner’s room, or can be picked up at Farm Credit Services or online at www.farmcreditnd.com

Border Ag & Energy Scholarship

  • Will recognize academic achievements as well as leadership skills of high school seniors interested in pursuing a career in agriculture
  • $500
  • Applicants should be well rounded students and should maintain quality involvement in a balance of extracurricular activities and service activities plus demonstrate leadership ability and potential
  • Deadline March 1, 2017 – applications in Mrs. Glasner room

SRT College Scholarship Program

  • 4- $1000 scholarships to high school seniors who recognize the importance of volunteerism, community involvement, and academic achievement
  • Customers receiving any service from SRT and their dependents may apply
  • Must enroll in a full time undergraduate course of study no later than fall of 2017 at an accredited two or four year college, university or vocational-technical school
  • Must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Applications due March 3, 2017 -www.srt.com

SRT Technical Scholarship –

  • 1- $1500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior OR undergraduate student enrolled in a curriculum studying telecommunications or computer tehnology field at an accredited technical school, two year college or four year college
  • Customers receiving any service from SRT and their dependents may apply
  • Applicants can apply multiple years but scholarship will only be awarded once to an individual
  • Application deadline is March 3 — www.srt.com (applications also in file in Mrs. Glasner’s room)

 

SRT offers national scholarships through NTCA– The Rural Broadband Assocation and the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS).  Students whose households have service from SRT can apply for these national scholarships

  • FRS Scholarship- $2500 (awards based on number of applications) – FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarhsip – $5000 (4 available) – TMS Telecom Management Services Scholarship $1500 (1 available) – Everett Kneece Return to Rural America Scholarship $7000 (1 available).
  • Must be a graduation senior and be sponsored by current NTCA member (SRT)
  • Have a 2.0 GPA and express interest in returning to rural community following college graduation
  • Postmarked applications to SRT no later than Feb 22 – www.srt.com application in file

Minot State University Art Scholarship (Harvey & Artlene Twyman Scholarship)

  • Offered to incoming freshman who intend to major in art and transfer or currently enrolled majors
  • Awards are determined by the quality of the application and portfolio
  • See application in Mrs. Glasner’s room
  • Deadline is March 10, 2017

Minot Rotary Scholarship

  • Must be a graduating senior of current year, be involved in school and community activities and enroll in postsecondary school or vocational school in the fall
  • Form must be completed and submitted by March 15, 2017

Western Agency Scholarship

  • $500 scholarship
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or better
  • Complete application by April 7, 2017

 

Bottineau County Farm Bureau/Sally Artz Scholarship

  • Will recognize academic achievements as well as leadership skills of high school seniors
  • $500
  • Applicants must:  parents must be a member of North Dakota Farm Bureau, a GPA of 3.0 or better, and should maintain quality involvment in a balance of extracurricular activities and service activities plus demonstrate leadership ability and potential
  • Application deadline May 1.

ND Rural Water Systems Association – Patrick Denne Memorial Scholarship

  • Up to $8000 in scholarship to students who are enrolled in Bismarck State College’s Water & Wastewater Technology Program or a child/grandchild of a current city/rural water system employee or elected city/rural water system official (must be a current member of ND Rural Water Systems Association).
  • Application deadline is April 28, 2017 – application and information in file

North Dakota Association of Counties

  • 6- $2000 scholarhsip will be awarded for 2017-2018 school year
  • Evaluated on leadership, volunteerism, honors/awards, personal statements and academic achievement
  • Any student age 17-22 years – child or grandchild of a county employee or county official – must be registered full-time student at any accredited ND university, college or technical certification program
  • Application in file in Mrs. Glasner room – deadline is June 2, 2017

 

ND Academic and ND CTE Scholarship

  • Must meet graduation requirements and have cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher and a “C” or better in all classes, Algebra II
  • Academic – need dual credit or AP class and a math higher than Algebra II – 2 same foreign language OR 2 CTE courses in same plan of study – ACT score of 24 or higher
  • CTE – 4 credits of CTE courses (2 in same plan of study) ACT of 24 or higher OR Workkeys Assessments (3 separate assessments with a score of 5 or higher – math, reading and locating information)
