Notes from the Superintendent

Dear Patrons,

I want to again remind parents to encourage your students to dress appropriately for the weather, you never can determine when a bus or vehicle will break down.  Bus delays become something that we need to deal with come winter so please be patient if your bus arrives a little late during pick up and drop off time this winter.  Hopefully everything runs smooth and stays on time, but we all know what winter can bring to our great state!  If you know that your child will not be riding the bus in the morning we ask that you let your bus driver know ahead of time, also if your yard has become congested and filled with snow so that a bus cannot get turned around, let us know that as well so that we do not put drivers and other children on buses in a dangerous situation!

In the case that we do need to call off school due to bad winter weather, we will continue to notify all patrons as it has been done in the past.  Any closings will be posted on the KMOT and KXMC along with KBTO, the school website and our Facebook page.  Parent Link will also be used to notify parents, but this only works if your PowerSchool data is up to date with a current phone number.  If your number or contact info has changed since last year please log in to the following link, http://www.bottineau.k12.nd.us and correct your contact info.  If you have trouble getting it changed online please notify the office and let them know, as Parent Link will pull this information directly from PowerSchool.

December 11, 2018 is a VERY important date for the Bottineau Public School District; this is the date of our school referendum vote.  Voting will take place in the hallway in front of the Holwell Auditorium and will run from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  I want to encourage each and everyone to come out and vote, every single vote will be needed to assure we can do what is right for our youngest students by providing them an educational facility they need.  If you cannot make the vote that day for whatever reason, make sure to request an absentee ballot, or come to the high school main office and vote.

I want to wish each and everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, have a safe but enjoyable Christmas break!

There will be no school on the following days in December:

December 24, 2018 to January 2, 2019 (Christmas Vacation)
