End of Season Basketball News and Notes

Well, another season in the books.  At the varsity level, we did not reach our goal of getting to the region tournament.  We came into the tournament as the #8 seed.  We knew coming in we could beat some teams if we played well.  Overall we probably played 3 of our better games of the year during the district tournament.  I guess, as a coach, I can say we peaked at the right time.  I’m proud of the way the boys...

We are over the halfway point and the season is winding down fast!  We have only 6 games left before we hit district tournament time (which is in Bottineau this year).  The JV boys played Minot Ryan in the first round of the annual Newburg Boys JV tournament on Tuesday.  They came away with a hard fought, 3 point victory.  They now play Kenmare at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Newburg.  If they win that game, they play in the...

Traveling and things

The cold weather is here and it is here to stay I feel!  We are now full throttle into basketball season and that means traveling to and fro.  Please make sure your son/daughter is getting on the bus with the appropriate gear.  They should, at a minimum, have a coat, hat and gloves when traveling to basketball games.  Tomorrow marks our first trip as a team and temperatures with wind chills could be deadly in a short...
