Community Service Idea Part 2

Since posting yesterday I have been getting some feedback from staff and patrons about my plan. I wasn’t sure if I explained the proposition or just what time the students would have off. Let me first show you the minutes involved. Seniors are given 30 minutes a day off, if they have no D’s or F’s.  This in a semester of 88 days equals 2640 minutes. Last year the students were given a 50 minute period in...

Community Service Idea

While I was off for the holiday I had a thought enter my head. Should our seniors have senior privileges? Why are we rewarding them for going to 12 and 1/2 years of school. I believe (and still do) that they should earn this free time. In the past students were allowed to have one less class than other students allowing them a free hour. Back in the Saddle!

Happy New Year!! I am excited as ever to get back into the school. We have so many things happening. Semester tests, scheduling, and even thinking about next years schedule to name just a few. After the break, or during, I plan to blog about the Connecticut tragedy, and the remedies that I feel we should use as a nation. Below is the draft of my column. It will not please...

Christmas Concert and Bullying news

Hello world! I will try to include the youtube links to the Christmas concert. It was a great concert. We are having a presentation by CAMFIL productions this coming Tuesday the 18th . The presentation is called the Pledge. It should be a good time to examine our school and try to free this area of bullies. We have had several instances of bullying in recent weeks so we thought it was time to do something. My hope is that...

Christmas Concert Links and More!!

We had a great Tuesday today. We finally had our awards day. Our students who showed the most growth in Math, Reading,  and Language  on their NWEA test were given awards. They got recognized and received a gift certificate from the chamber of commerce. It was awesome! The certificates were donated by the PTO, and I owe them a huge thanks. This wasn’t your typical students getting recognized. We also handed out BIC...
