It is Spring and lots of activities are happening for lots of our students! Good luck to our Speech team as they head to Regionals TODAY in Towner! Also, Good Luck to our Band and Choir students participating in the Regional Small Group Competition in Minot TOMORROW! Good luck to all!
Mrs. Palmer's Marketing II students were lucky enough to have another guest speaker today. Koni Hahn, owner of Botsy's Boutique, came in to visit about how marketing impacts her business. Thank you Koni! The students learned so much!

Mrs. Palmer's Marketing II students had a very special guest in class today. Eric Herbel came to visit about his career path, his businesses, and marketing. The students learned so much! Thank you Eric!

On Monday, March 30 we had a team of four 8th graders represent our school at State MathCounts in Bismarck. The competition was very tough, but they gave it their best effort. In order to place, a team had to be in the top 4 out of 40 teams or in the top 30 for individuals out of 160 competitors.
Although they didn't place at state, they were still the top team representing Region 3 (Bottineau, Renville, Rolette, and Ward counties).
I am very proud of how well they represented Bottineau Public School and our region!

Bottineau Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) had 29 members attend the state conference this week in Bismarck. Students who placed in the top for their category were recognized on stage:
Kyra Brossart - 3rd Place in Retail Management (Nationals Qualifier)
Ashlyn Follman - 4th Place in Entrepreneurship (Nationals Qualifier) and 6th Place in Business Communications
Emma Ellis - 5th Place in Public Administration and Management (Nationals Alternate)
Hudson McLain - 7th Pace in Retail Management
Kamden Kortgaard - 10th Place in Project Management
In addition, sophomore, Matt Hamilton won his campaign for ND FBLA Treasurer for the 2026-27 school year and will start his officer duties by attending the National Conference in San Antonio, TX as a representative of ND FBLA and Bottineau FBLA!

On Friday, the Horticulture class finished a unit in floral design with a hands on learning lab. Each student got to design and arrange their own flower bouquet. These will be on display in different classrooms around the school until fair time.

Mrs. Stewart took her students tubing at the Bottineau Winter Park on Tuesday, March 24th. It looks like they had a blast!
In world history we are covering WWI. We discussed how much of the war was fought in trenches along the Western and Eastern Fronts. Today, students built trenches, listened to "trench sounds" and excerpts from "All Quiet on the Western Front." They then wrote letters from the trenches. For a little fun at the end they got to simulate trenches warfare.
Spanish Club hosted an appetizer-cooking night and a watch party with the movie The Book of Life
